Hello, I'm Alexander Emel, a British and International artist - recently moved to North Scotland from London, where I lived for more than 25 years.
I have been working with a variety of visual arts, such as photography (portraits, non digital), fine art, pottery, clay sculpturing throughout most of my life (excluding my early twenties, when I was a scientist for a few years after graduating from University). I became a member of IFA (International Federation of Artists) in 1987. My artworks have been exhibited and sold throughout Spain, Canada, France, Portugal and the UK. For the past twenty years I have, almost exclusively, specialised in drawing and painting commissioned portraits. However, the caricatures have become a focal point further down the line for around 15 years now. I'm currently a member of International Society of Caricature Artists, ISCA. The two portraits of me here have been created by my very good friends and professional artists who, actually, converted me to be a full time artist in my late twenties. - The first one - a full size sculpting portrait in clay, fired and toned. - The second one - oil painting on canvas where my friend attempted to capture my image from my last incarnation in medieval Spain (why not!). |
HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF MY OTHER CREATIVE WORKS:
The diversity of mediums I've used reflects the different passions and preferences in particular periods of my artistic life.
